The band

Every year on Christmas Eve we have a get together with the Cook family. This year everyone was there except for Staci, Trent & kids, we missed you all. The boys (Cam, Cale & Jesse) were the hosts, we enjoyed a dinner of Prime Rib & cheesy potatoes. After dinner we played Country Band on the Wii. It was so much fun! The kids had a good time singing, dancing & getting rid of their Christmas excitement. After, we played a white elephant game. It's always fun to get together as family. Can't wait 'til next year!

12 things about Jacsyn

Jacsyn had her first birthday on December 11. So I would like to write 12 random things about Jacsyn.
1. She loves, loves, loves her dada. It doesn't matter what is going on, when he walks into the room he lights up her world.
2. She is a screamer!
3. She adores her big sisters.
4. She has 4 teeth. 2 on top & 2 on bottom, all of which came in within a day of each other in August!
5. She can say yah (yes), ba (bottle), dada, mama, ma (Emma), horse, puppy & fish. She whispers sounds. She shakes her head back and forth for no, but doesn't say it quite yet.
6. She is on a routine. EXAMPLE: up at 8am, nap at 11 or 12 for 2-3 hours, dinner at 5pm and ready for bed by 8pm.
7. She stands by herself and has taken a few steps on her own, but does not walk.
8. She is can play by herself.
9. She loves music. She dances (sways side to side) when there is music playing.
10. She hates anything on her head. That makes it difficult for me to dress her up & put a big headband with a bow or flower on her head.
11. She hates her toes played with. Let me explain. Jeremy loves to pop the girls toes. Gross I know. He does the 10 little pigs nursery rhyme and pops each toe. Madi & Emma both let him do it to there toes, Jacsyn does not! Do not get close, you might get kicked.
12. She is still likes to be held & will snuggle when she is tired. So sweet!

25 things to do this summer

Last summer I was pregnant and hate to admit it, but I wasn't a lot of fun. I pretty much spent the whole summer sick, laying on the couch. So the girls and I made a list of 25 things we want to do before they go back to school in August.
#21: Be Spontaneous!
This is hard for me. It drives Jeremy crazy. I need a plan and I need to know what everyone else has planned too.
Last weekend a friend of ours had horses racing at Wyoming Downs. Jeremy & I decided to go watch the Saturday races. Madi and Emma wanted to stay and have a sleepover at Grandma Marlenes, so we took Jake, Kelsey & Brilee Birchell with us. As soon as we got the the track Jeremy and Jake left Kelsey, Brilee, Jacsyn and I to fend for our selves. So we put the girls in the strollers and found a place to sit close to the finish line. The girls and I had a lot of fun! After the last race we found the guys and decided to go to dinner before we headed home. On our way to dinner Jeremy throws out the idea of spending the night so we can watch Mike's horse run on Sunday. Well the thoughts that go through my head are, 1 we don't have Madi & Emma and grandma has church tomorrow, 2 we don't have anything to stay and 3 I only brought enough formula and diapers for the day. I could tell Jeremy really wanted to stay and he rarely does anything besides work so I said I could make it work and Kelsey said she was cool with it, so we stayed. The girls went to Wal-mart and got the things we needed for the night and next day and the silly boys went to the OTB to bet on horse races. We were spontaneous! Not easy with a 6 month old, but we did it. We had a eventful weekend. We had tons of fun! It is so great to have such good friends who are willing to be crazy with us. Thanks Jake, Kelsey & Brilee. We can't wait til next time.

#3: Go to a museum
I have never taken my kids to the The Museum of Natural History in Vernal, aka the Dinosaur Museum. Staci's son Taft is a dinosaur fanatic! So Staci & Trent, Carol and I took the kids to Vernal to see the dinosaurs.
Emma & Madi

#9: Go to the zoo
A couple of weeks ago I was telling Ashley I needed to take the kids to the zoo, since the only zoo Emma has been to was San Diego. She said she hadn't taken her kids for years and thought it would be fun if we took our kids together. We went on a Friday, we didn't think it would be too busy, but it was packed. It was the first day without rain in weeks and I think everyone else had the same idea as us. We first went to the zoo and then to the Gateway and had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. After we did a little shopping before we headed home.

#13: Visit grandparents & great grandparents

Family picture

On Father's day we had lunch at Carol & Dusty's house. Thanks guys! Staci, Trent & kids were here from California and Jesse came from Delta. We were able to get a picture of the whole clan! The last time we took a picture was 5 years ago, so a lot has changed. It was fun to get to visit and the kids had a blast playing together.

Jr. High State Finals

UBKRI Rodeo team

Chaidy, Mariah & Madi

The first weekend in June we were in Heber at the Jr. High State Finals with Madi. Madi qualified in 3 events! She ran the barrels, pole bended and ribbon roped. The first go Madi had the second fastest time in barrels. Way to go sista!

Get together

Billy & Jacsyn

Billy is Wes (Jeremy's brother) and Jody's baby. He is was born December 23, 12 days after Jacsyn! I think it is really neat that Jacsyn is has a cousin the same age as her.

Sunday we went to Oakley to take flowers to Jeremy's dad Bill & Grandpa Jay's grave sites. We also had dinner at Marla's. We got to see Wes, Jody, Cameron and Billy. Grandma Bethel was there and Ben, Lara, Will, Isabelle and Joey came to Marla's after dinner to visit. It was so nice to see everyone! The kids have so much fun playing together. Life is so busy. We don't make time to get together and visit very often. Can't wait 'til next time :)

Girls night out!

Bailee, Madi, Devri, Harlee & Emma

Last night Madi, Emma, Bailee and I went and saw Taylor Swift in concert at the Energy Solutions Arena. We went with Niki, Devri, Sheila, Harlee, Kimmie, Brylee & Stran. We had awesome tickets, we were on the floor, row 5! We had a blast! Kellie Pickler was supposed to open for her, but she was sick and another group named Gloriana opened. They were alright. The girls were pretty disappointed because we expected to see Kellie Pickler :( Jacsyn got to stay home with grandma Marlene and her dad. Thanks guys!

YeAr EnD TuMbLiNg ReVuE

Madi has been tumbling since she was 4. She was doing back handsprings by 5 and joined the performance team the same year and watch her now. I think she is a natural:) I love, love, love to watch her tumble. Great job Madi!

This was Emma's second year of tumbling and she loves it sooo much! She is very flexible. She can almost do a back handspring by herself! She is such a performer and during her revue she made sure she waved to her biggest fans (mom & dad). Too cute:) Good job Emma, you make us so proud!

Jacsyn & Zee

I am really behind, but here is a picture of Jacsyn and her cousin Zee (my sister Staci's baby). Jacsyn is 10 weeks older than Zee and as you can tell, she is two of her:) It was so fun (for us) to visit them, we wish they were closer and miss them all so much!
